Chanel 2007 Ready-To-Wear in Paris

From a show that was oh-so-Chanel, but also oh-so in-the-now, came sleek black and white, huge sunglasses, and yards of gold chain. The perennial tweed was tweaked with a yellow weave (répéter après moi: le jaune, le jaune, le jaune), this time overlaid with sheer black polka dots and black lace. The Karl-concept of layering a sheer black dress over a white one played off beautifully with the sparkle sequins showing through like stars in the night. Speaking of celestial ecstasy, models had stars in their eyes—painted on with glitter, but glimmering nonetheless. Meanwhile, a blingy interlocking double-C necklace is bound to be a rapper’s delight.
